What to write about

• Corrections. If something here is factually wrong or out of date, tell us. This is the message we most want to receive.
• Editorial suggestions. If there is a question you cannot find a good answer to anywhere, it may be worth a guide.
• Removal requests. If you believe something here identifies you or infringes your rights, tell us and we will deal with it promptly.
• Accessibility problems. If any part of the site does not work with the tools you use, we want to know.

What we cannot help with

• Personal advice. We are not counsellors and cannot advise on individual relationships.
• Introductions. We do not run events and cannot connect you with anyone.
• Recovering money lost to a scam. Contact your bank immediately and report it to the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center and the FTC — those are the routes that can actually help.

If you are reporting an error

The most useful reports include three things: the page, the specific sentence, and why it is wrong. Where a claim is factual and we have got it wrong, a source makes the correction faster and more likely to stick.

We are particularly interested in errors about events, organisations and anything time-sensitive, since those change and we describe them in general terms precisely because they are hard to keep current.

What we will not publish

We do not accept guest posts, link exchanges or sponsored placements, and messages about those are deleted unread. We also do not publish reader stories, because we have no way to verify them and a site that invents testimonials is exactly what this one exists to be an alternative to.

Response times

Corrections and removal requests are prioritised and usually handled within a few days. General enquiries take longer and may not receive an individual reply.

Urgent situations

If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services rather than a website. If you are dealing with threats over images, preserve the messages, stop responding and report it to law enforcement — it is a crime and reporting it is not an admission of anything.
